Impact Hydrogen joins AHP
Groningen (Netherlands), Port Louis (Mauritius) - 8th December, 2022
The African Hydrogen Partnership (AHP) is delighted to welcome Impact Hydrogen as a company that helps coordinate the green hydrogen economy and allow it to unlock its full potential. Impact Hydrogen is a project development company that organises and accelerates the realisation of value chains within and between countries.
Nienke Homan, CEO Impact Hydrogen stated,
“Organising the hydrogen value chain in one region, integrally, and with an ecosystem of relevant stakeholders, ensures a match between demand, supply, and the enabling environment. Impact Hydrogen provides the vision, the models, the know-how, as well as the project coordination that is required to orchestrate the development and operation of such Hydrogen Valleys.”
Dr Innocent Uwuijaren, AHP Director and Chairman, stated,
“We are delighted that Impact Hydrogen has joined the AHP. We look forward to working with Nienke Homan, Ann Abheiden, and Sharon Becker as they work with organisations and governments in Africa advising them on the creation of Hydrogen Ecosystems like Hydrogen Valleys or Hubs. Their expertise and capabilities will facilitate the collaboration between market sectors which already offer commercially feasible opportunities, e.g. baseload renewable power using hydrogen or green fertiliser production, in order to optimise synergies for maximising economies of scale. We appreciate their focus on developing local hydrogen markets with relevant local skill sets to build supply and demand in domestic markets with local companies”.
About Impact Hydrogen
Impact Hydrogen is based in the northern Netherlands, home of the first Hydrogen Valley. Impact Hydrogen operates in Europe, India and several African countries, and has a global partner network through which they mobilise technical expertise, knowledge and human capital.
Together with trailblazing companies, they initiate Hydrogen Valleys and work with industrial, energy, SME companies and governments to realise their ambitions for green growth and regional prosperity. Impact Hydrogen engages with local stakeholders to ensure that the new Hydrogen economy is aligned with local needs and opportunities and creates value for all stakeholders across the value chain and the wider socio-economic system in the region.
The Hydrogen Valley concept is internationally embraced as a solution to the "chicken and egg" problem for hydrogen: large scale production needs guaranteed offtake and large off takers will only convert their business to green hydrogen if supply is guaranteed.
