Advanced Sustainable Technologies (AST) joins the AHP
Rehovot (Israel), Port Louis (Mauritius) - 14th July 2022
The African Hydrogen Partnership (AHP) is delighted to welcome Advanced Sustainable Technologies (AST) as its first member specialising in Waste-to-HydrogenPower.
Advanced Sustainable Technologies (AST) Ltd. - a global leader in waste management technology, which utilises its proprietary waste to value platforms to enable a circular economy as part of its vision of a more sustainable world powered by clean energy - announced today it has joined the African Hydrogen Partnership (AHP), the only continent-wide African umbrella association and leading association dedicated to the development of green hydrogen in Africa.
“We, at AST, are dedicated to changing how the world views waste,” said Mr. Dan Levin, Founder and CEO. “AST brings decades of knowledge and experience developing, manufacturing and operating waste management solutions, tackling various types of waste to recycle and produce new products that can address the growing waste and energy crises the human race is facing.”
“African countries provide great potential for implementing waste to energy and hydrogen technologies due to their large quantities of agricultural waste and unique environmental settings. I believe future progress can come from the most unexpected places and we will soon see African countries becoming a focal point for sustainability.”
“AST joins a community of major companies working to significantly advance and accelerate the hydrogen economy across the Africa continent. As an AHP member, AST can now exchange knowledge and best practices with a network of industry innovators and experts in the hydrogen field, collaborating on implementing technologies that will build the future hydrogen economy of Africa.”
AST, headquartered in Israel, operates to develop waste management solutions around the globe with dozens of upcoming projects in its pipeline. AST aims to become a leading global player in an emerging waste to value market worth annually over $2 trillion and develop socially responsible sustainable projects that will propel developing countries to a greener future, providing a clean and viable solution to ever-growing waste accumulation and energy deprivation.
Prof Bamidele Adebisi, AHP University Board Member and Professor for Smart Infrastructure at Manchester Metropolitan University, said,
“We are delighted that AST has joined the AHP. AST brings a range of technologies that were not previously represented within the AHP and thus adds another dimension to what the AHP is able to offer. Our recent delegation to Somaliland and Tanzania demonstrated how important this was and how business and government there recognise the importance of dealing effectively with waste and the attractiveness of treating it as an asset which can be converted into hydrogen or fuel.”
