Hanwha Energy to build new type of plant

KIM JEE-HEE reported, "Hanwha Energy started construction of a massive fuel cell power plant that will produce energy from hydrogen produced as a byproduct of petrochemical plants, the company said Thursday. The company said in a statement that it is the world’s first large-scale fuel cell plant that uses such hydrogen. The plant, built on 20,000 square meters (5 acres) of land in Seosan, South Chungcheong, will begin commercial operations in June 2020 and produce 400,000 megawatt-hours of energy, enough to power roughly 170,000 households in South Chungcheong.
