The HyFIVE project is pleased to announce on behalf of the Danish Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells that Honda has launched its fuel cell car, the Honda Clarity, in Denmark.

Honda’s fuel cell car will join its counterparts Hyundai and Toyota, which have already delivered a number of cars in Denmark as part of the project.

“The arrival of the Honda Clarity in Denmark shows a strong commitment to the green transition of the transport sector and underlines the importance of zero emission cars in this regard. By having more FCVs on the streets, we are really putting the message out there: green transport is both feasible, affordable and a reliable choice for personal transport”, said Tejs Laustsen Jensen, CEO of the Danish Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells.

The deployment of Honda’s Clarity in Denmark is also marked as a milestone by the project’s funding body the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCHJU):

Executive Director Bart Biebuyck commented: “This highlights the increasing confidence coming from the industry to pursue the initiated efforts for deployment. The arrival of the Honda Clarity in Denmark is also the sign that the FCH JU’s project HyFIVE keeps flourishing, and will certainly help extending promising national networks towards EU plans.”

CEO Tejs Laustsen Jensen: “Denmark is the first country in the world to have established a nationwide network of refueling stations. With the arrival of the third commercial hydrogen car, and with the continued support from the HyFIVE project, we will be able to improve and extend the Danish hydrogen network even more.”

With the Honda Clarity now on Denmark’s roads, the total number of registered FCVs in Denmark is 75 of which 43 of them have been supported by the HyFIVE project.
