As Lake Turkana wind park nears completion, new film series offers a closer look at the project.
Located next to the eastern shores of Lake Turkana, Kenya, the 365-turbine wind park will be Africa’s largest wind park and the largest single private sector investment in Kenya’s history, generating electricity equivalent to 15 percent of the country’s current electricity consumption. And with 1,200 km from the port of Mombasa to the site and average wind speeds in excess of 11 m/s, the project is not only a milestone for Kenya, but also a stern test for Vestas’ ability to install turbines anywhere in the world.
In this teaser for the series, Vestas introduces the project and lifts the veil of what is to come.
